GUMMY LABYRINTH
Incas on his Perch
This abstraction was made as part of an Extinct or Invasive species project in Spartanburg SC.
It follows the chronology of the Carolina Parakeet's species creation to the last member of his species, Incas.

This piece is read left to right, and transitions from rhythmic, natural lines to a manufactured sporadic cage.
It ends with a jagged line leading off into space, a reference to the solitude and uncertainty human interference  brought to the Carolina Parakeet, and the last remaining hope it had of conservation.
Game Board
This piece sheds light on the gentrification of the community that existed beyond Wofford College's walls.
Where once was a neighborhood with many small homes and a church, now stand school buildings and other properties. The plaster houses placed atop this game board are erected  in the same location the real homes once stood topographically, and the base is a found object: a piece of a stool left as a relic on one of the abandoned plots of land.
